The honest read

Airbnb Experiences proved the host-curated micro-event marketplace · we move that shape from travel to the block you live on. WhatsApp Groups is for the people you already know · we add the strangers you'd want to know. Snap Map shows friends · we show fellows. Three different jobs, one app.

I used to feel like I was surrounded by strangers. Three months in, my Sundays look like the Sundays of someone who's lived here for a decade.

built for trust

You can be found.
You can never be filtered out.

10-layer privacy architecture. Three of the things we built in:

🏠

Home address is hidden.

Map pin fuzzed to a block-sized tile. We never store your exact address.

🤝

Sensitive things only show mutually.

Faith, sobriety, sexuality — only revealed when both fellows opted in.

Filters are inclusive only.

You can opt INTO a cohort. You can never hide people for who they are.

Reads — stories about finding your people.

22 cohort-tagged essays on loneliness, neighborhood, and what works. Stack two or three pills to see the combine.

🤱 Parents
Why it's hard to meet other parents on your block — and what works.
🏃 Sports
Where to find a pickup basketball game in Park Slope · court by court.
🎓 Students
Lost in Westwood · finding the Brazilian Cog-Sci lunch at UCLA.
🌍 Newcomers

Reads is the story layer behind TagAlng search.

The website routes every Reads touchpoint into the Reads Blog so stories, cohort pages, and neighborhood intent can be managed as one CMS + SEO flow.

1 · Website intent
Nav, cohort chips, and story teasers collect visitor intent.
2 · Reads Blog CMS
Stories live as searchable content by cohort, location, and need.
3 · SEO loop
Articles rank for “make friends in…” and convert back to waitlist.

questions, answered

The 5 things people ask before signing up.

1
Is it free?
Yes — for users. You'll never pay to find fellows or join free events. We charge a 30% fee only on paid events that earned-status hosts choose to host ($5–$50 per ticket). Most events are free.
2
How do you keep people safe?
10-layer privacy architecture, load-bearing from day one. Home address hidden, no race/sex collected, sensitive identity (faith, recovery, LGBTQ+) only mutually disclosed, kids never collected, filters are inclusive-only (opt INTO a cohort but never filter someone OUT), full GDPR + CCPA. Phone-verified signup, ID verification only at first paid check-in. Real names hidden until you've met IRL.
3
When does my block go live?
When 200 verified neighbors on your block sign up. We never enter a block before it has supply — that's how we avoid "empty rooms." Top 5 referrers when your block unlocks get a permanent Founding Member badge.
4
Can I make money hosting events?
Yes, but you earn it. Free events are open from day one. Paid hosting ($5–$50 per ticket, 70/30 split) unlocks at 5 events + 4.5★ + 50 check-ins. Pro Creator tier (subscriptions, lower 20% take) above that.
5
Do I have to be a parent / sober / Catholic to use this?
No. TagAlng works for any identity that defines you. We launch with parents because the unmet need is biggest, but expand to every cohort — LGBTQ+, sober, ND, expat, heritage, sport. Faith, sobriety, sexuality and similar traits are mutual-consent only — only visible to fellows who also disclosed.
